The Forensics season started on January 25th with a very successful meet, as they placed third overall! The team travelled to Sabetha and had six individuals who placed in various categories. All six reserved their spots for the State Festival. Senior Cass Kreie and junior Ethan Pruitt took first place for the Duet team. Pruitt also placed sixth for his Humorous Solo. Another senior who will be going to State is Nathan Stroud, who placed fifth in Poetry. Jocelyn Dvorak, who is a junior, took first place in Impromptu Speaking. Sophomore Jenna Madere placed both in Prose (fifth) and Poetry (sixth). Finally, for her first forensics win, sophomore Athalia (Ati) Hoschover won sixth in Prose, qualifying for State Festival for the first time!
The latest meet for the Red Hawks Forensics team happened last Saturday at Nemaha Central. The forensics team earned many more medals, which allowed them to place third overall. The dynamic duo of Cass Kreie and Ethan Pruitt placed fourth with a Humorous Duet. Junior Morgan Hurn placed third in two categories, those being Oral Interpretation and Original Oration, which are her first wins for the year. With these medals, Hurn joined the ever-growing list of State Qualifiers. Freshman Taylor Dvorak and her sister Jocelyn Dvorak brought home fifth for Impromptu Duet Acting, which is Taylor’s first win, and also qualifying them both for state in this category. Nathan Stroud and Jenna Madere both again placed in Poetry, with Nathan bringing in fifth place, and Jenna brought in fourth. Wish these Red Hawks the best of luck with their season!
